Braided Rugs

Braided rugs are one of the types of oriental rugs. It’s tradition which came from the Eastern countries.

The real braided rugs are made only in Eastern countries – from Turkey to China.

But we can include to producers of braided rugs only those countries which were under political, ethnical and religious influence of the East.

In this case countries – producers of braided rugs are Balkan states, Egypt, and countries of Northern Africa – Tunis and Marokko.

Carpets can be called braided rugs, if yarn is up to fabrics by weavering of nodules and at the same time the carpet has pile.

Such weavered nodule must bend around at least one thread of the base. There’re different variants of weavering braided rugs, and different names of nodules: Persian nodule, Turkish nodule, Tibetan nodule, Spanish nodule.

Braided rugs are made in 4 different methods – by nomads, peasants, at small workshops and large manufactures.

Paints used at production of braided rugs have 2 types – natural and synthetic. Natural paints are gained from plants or secrets of insects. Synthetic paints are made by industrial methods
