Indians of old times left to us many wonderful items of art. Navajo rugs are one of the most notable among them. It's unknown when indians of navajo tribe began to weave this carpets. But there's the fact that indians are continuing to make navajo rugs in reservations till today. This national art attracted attention of europeans. And it's not strange, because navajo rugs always have interesting original ornament. Classical navajo rugs have pattern with different stripes, rhombuses and rectangles. Often navajo rugs with images of home animals can be met. There're some kinds of navajo rugs known:saddle blankets, mats, pictorial and so on. Colors used are red, yellow and brown by the most part. Some navajo rugs even have names which are connected to their pattern. Among them there're such exotic names as Two Grey Hills and Wide Runs.
