Delicious beauty and excellent quality of Persian rugs are known all over the world. It’s not a strange thing – there’s no such country where carpets play such important role as Iran. There’s no much furniture in Iran houses, that’s why the main detail of interior is rug. Persian rugs are divided on the next groups: rugs of Safavids period, rugs with another ornament and generic rugs. For the first time Persian rugs were made for won using or for the gift. Only in 3 century A.D. production of carpets for a sale began in manufactures of Persia and Little Asia. Rugs making were widespread in Persia of 15, 16 and 17 centuries. The main centers of this industry were Tebriz, Great, Kashan and Kerman. Persian rugs were weavered in many cities and they were much more varied then those groups which are known to us. In 1612 armenian merchant Muratovich bring eight silk persian rugs to the polish king Sigizmund. In 1603, 1622 and 1638 senior of Venecia got three silk Persian rugs from the Persian shah. Now Iran is the biggest manufacturer of carpets. India, Pakistan, Nepal and China are trying to dispute this fame. But persian rugs remain an etalon of the real oriental carpet. | |||||
